The Zerobox 103 Active speaker is a semi Active version.
The built in active module power amplifiers power the
low frequencies only; an external amplifier is still
required to drive the Manger transducers in the zerobox
head. The Bass drivers are the heaviest and hardest
to control in any speaker system so by using active
bass we are driving the two bass drivers directly with
their own power amplifiers giving complete and total
control, you haven’t heard bass until you’ve
heard Active Bass. The proteus active module is constructed
into the rear lower part of the cabinet.
The Proteus SW2.5 Active module offers a huge number
of features allowing you to integrate the bass into
almost any room, also to your preferred style. As well
as high output power its design and quality of manufacturing
are what you would expect from a high performance product.
Elegant design
The 4 mm aluminium front is brushed and anodised. A
new etching technology makes sure that the printing
is protected against abrasion.
All cinch sockets are gold-plated and the potentiometers
are fully enclosed in diecast aluminium, with multiple
click-stops for convenient operation. The toggle switches
are fitted with chrome-plated levers and incorporate
gold-plated contacts, underlining the professional,
high-end appeal of this module.
For the assembly of the SW2.5, we exclusively use bolts
made from polished stainless steel (V2A).
The Proteus SW2.5 electronics are manufactured using
surface mounted devices (SMD). This technology allows
a very high packing density of the component boards
with shorter connecting tracks, which considerably improves
on the performance.

applied in several layers. A feast for the eyes
but nevertheless unobtrusive, because the surrounding
is reflected softly.

The
ZB 103 and ZB 107 can be purchased using 1 Manger
drive unit per speaker in the front panel (this is
known as a upgrading version) or using 3 Manger drive
units per speaker 1 in the front panel and 1 either
side. The 3 Manger drive unit models are the far superior.
If you purchase a upgrading version i.e. 1 manger
drive unit per speaker the cabinets are only available
with cutted holes for the 2 side drivers, which are
closed with dummy plates. This allows a cheaper purchase
price and the availability to upgrade at a later date
without having to modify the cabinets
